army wives who only claim to be dating their soldiers

So i have a few friends who have been married to their husbands for either a few months or a few years now but they don't claime that they're married. They say the reason is because they want to wait to have an actual wedding (they did the courthouse thing) and don't want their friends knowing yet. How do you feel about it? I feel really weird because lately these wives haven't been acting like wives. They have started taking pictures ( photo shots to be models) and at first the pictures were okay, now the pictures are like rated R. I just don't think a wife should act that way. Should i tell them how i feel or let them do their thing? The way i have always seen it is the way you act effects your husband and i sure wouldn't want people saying bad things about my husband.

I just don't understand girls.. like i'm SOOO proud of be married to my husband and i don't understand why people wouldn't want others to know. Their "modeling" isn't there job, it's just them trying to become famous. They have taken a few in their husbands uniforms and what not and isn't that illegal to act like your a soldier and you arent?! I have stopped haning out with them Lisa, my mom has always said who you hang out with is who you become and i really don't wanna be like them. I just think it really bothers me because they post the pictures on their facebook/myspace and everyone seems these "wives" acting like this.

There is nothing illegal about wearing a uniform if you are not in the military. Otherwise military surplus stores everywhere would lose about half their inventory. If you impersonate someone in the military...it's more than just donning the clothes...it's going around telling people you are in the military, or trying to gain access to something (like a military installation) illegally.

Yep...that's something that gets mixed up a lot of times. It's not illegal to wear the clothing but it is illegal to impersonate, UNLESS it is for Hollywood. A lot of people think uniforms are messed up in movies and TV shows because it's illegal, and that's not true. UCMJ even states that Hollywood and such are the exception to that rule.

And the UCMJ only applies to military personnel (or prisoners of war held by the US)...and really has nothing to do with uniforms. The "Uniform" in UCMJ means a "consistent example".
