Hello Ladies! I have realized that I pass a lot of my time playing online games and such. I was wondering how many others do this? Maybe you could recommend some good games sites that are cheap or free! Two player games are great as well, ones that we can play with our significant others when away... my husband and I play on pogo, games like Battleship and Scrabble. We turn on our webcams and get to spend some quality time together while apart. Any suggestions?
My other question for you is what hobbies you have come up with when your apart? I need to find some new interests that I can limit some spending, so what better way then to ask you? I am looking for hobbies that we can do by ourselves or with friends, such as scrapbooking... thanks all =)
I play games on facebook, games on yahoo, on pogo ,I love to scrapbook, i try making things , i am gonna start on making something for my bathroom as soon as i buy the supplies i need, i play with my dog , i hang ut with friends, and i have those days where i like to watch movies and cuddle on the couch, there is soo much u can do to keep busy and to pass time, cant wait to read more idea's from u girls, i sometimes have dinner nights with friends where if both of our husbands are gone one of us makes dinner for the other, i love watching tv shows on certain nights, also going to the movies and going shopping with friends is alot of fun.
have you been to scrapbook.com ?? THey have a HUGE superstore, and are always offering coupons (and contests to win gift cards!)...and have a "scrap by color" tool. You can upload a photo, it pulls out EVERY color from your photo, and then makes product recommendations based on the colors, and shows you what color wheel combos you can use. It's REALLY fun.
I have never tried scrapbooking before, but was thinking about making a book for my husband. I want to make him one that has his military career. I had saved small things like plane tickets and the cork from the bottle of wine at the ball, letters we have written and postcards. I dont know all that much about it, but is there a way to put larger items in the scrapbook for things like the cork? Or do you just use pictures?
You can really use anything...something like a cork might be hard, you might be able to cut it in half lengthwise before placing it on the page to keep it from propping the book open. There are basically 2 kinds of scrapbooks. Keepsake albums...and showcase albums. The keepsake album is ticket stubs, letters, and postcards, with pictures and stories. The Showcase will have had every single item PH tested (there's a pen for that), and if it's not acid/lignen free (google that), they will either take a picture or scan it into a computer to print it out on acid/lignen free cardstock, or they will spray it with archival mist (which costs $20 a bottle). :) I have done a lot of scrapbooking...if you need some help, let me know. If I am doing a lot of things I want people to be able to see, I will create a small pocket or envelope on a page to stash things in. Most scrapbooks now use page protectors as a sort of mandatory way to keep the page IN the book (like a 3-prong/3-ring binder style). I have sliced little sections of the page protector off to let something through, so that it isn't being ruined by the setup of the album itself.
Personally, I think there is no reason for a child to be there during birth. They are too young to understand/process everything that is going on, and seeing you in pain or things they don't understand will only make them even more uncomfortable/a...
