Hi everyone! I'm new to the site and this group. My husband is stationed at Miramar here in California, but we both grew up here so we live in between base and family. We just got word that we might be moving to Cherry Point in North Carolina in about a year and a half, so I wanted to see if anyone's over there and could tell me about it. I'm excited to talk to all of you!

hi there Mrs. Carter and Catherine P. welcome! i'm stationed at miramar. i know exactly how you feel (mrs. carter). eager to make friends with the wives and go out and what not. we live in escondido but looking for a place closer to base. if you need anyone i'm here for you. he's deployed right now. and i've learned a lot of shit while being married and surrounded by marines. some things i wish i didn't know..

Hello to all Marine Wives... Im 19 years old and My Husband is stationed at Camp Pendleton... Im going through a lot of difficult situations and hope that you ladies can help me out i recently got married..i hope to make new friends and possible get out of the house lol.. well hope to hear from some of you ladies soon....

Hi, Marine Wives.

I am looking for one proud Marine wife who is willing to nominate a location near their current duty station to be featured in the April issue of Military Spouse magazine's "Home Base" column.

The question to be featured in the April issue is: "What's the best day trip for families?"

To nominate a place near you, send me your name, branch of service, duty location and one or two sentences telling me what's the best day trip near you and why. I need the nominations quickly as I have to compile photos of the locations by mid-January (which I'll get from other sources).

Sarah try aafes online or something like that it is the military website for all of their uniforms and such. I had the same problem with boot bands because apparently we are special and have our own type lol go figure! I don't know the exact spelling of it but try variations if not go to sgtgrit.com they should have stuff too. Good luck on that stuff!
Ashley- I would try doing like the train out there. It's sometimes cheaper than flying and you can get out there and back in reasonable time. sometimes if you find flights in advance or deals you can manage to get some really awesome things. Like try finding a cheap ticket from IL to LAX (the los angeles airport) then try another flight from LAX to closer to where you need to go. Or you can do the hopper which is like a train that runs from la to san diego or trying to get a rental car in order to get you down there and do what you need from there. What is he training for exactly? You might want to wait on the apartment until you know where he is going because that could get really tricky finding a month to month for that short amount of time. Side note- I HATE THE AIR WING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay... whew makes me feel better to get that out there lol! Damn marines wonder why their re-enlistment rate is bottoming out in the air wing! It's because they are incompetent arrogant insolent ninny mungers yes i said it and yes i mean it lol! okay i am good now... good luck to you all!

Hi all; i was just wondering if any of you know where i could possibly buy the green skivvy shirts marines wear?? my hubby is in afghan. and wants some and i cant seem to find anything.. i swear google is allergic to my searchs about military stuff! lol...

Hey ladies! My husband and I are newley Weds and he also just joined the Marines. I'm really new to all of this, he is at camp pendelton in infantry training right now. At the end of this month he will go to twentynine palms, california for his schooling. I was looking at apartments and found a couple so i can move down there. His schooling is only two months. I was wondering if any of you ladies are from around there and know anything about the transporation seeing as i'm from IL and i'm not sure if my car will make it there and back! If anyone can help me or give me sugestions that would be a big help! Thank you!

Okay dining out? We are missing the marine corps ball because my husbands unit is deployed but they are doing a "surprise" dining out ball when they get back in december. I was planning on not going to another ball so i got rid of my dresses and such and then they say this is mandatory fun day lol don't you guys love that Mandofun! Anyways I have NO idea what to wear. i know balls are formal but what do you wear to a dining out? HELP! lol!

1Thank you I finally found my dress over the weekend and I had to order it 2 sizes to big to get it back in time and get it altered so I'm super excited now. All I have to find is shoes and accessories.
