Hey everyone! Newbie here. I've got a few goals that I'm working towards right now...

I just completed my Associates Degree so now I'm working towards my Bachelors Degree in Social Work

I want to lose 50 lbs

I'm working toward completeing the Medical Transcription program with Career Step

I also want to become a certified yoga instructor.

Congrats! It is a good feeling to get the weight off! I dunno about you but I talked about getting down to my current weight for about 4 years before I actually did it.

Hey everyone. At the beginning of my fiance's deployment I set several goals. So far I have...
-lost 30 lbs and maintained a healthy lifestyle. I was around 140 lbs when I started and now I'm at 110-111 lbs.
-finished my Honors Thesis and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BM in Musicology, with honors.
-lived on my own after graduation without the financial support of my fiance.

Next month I will be presenting a shortened version of my Honors Thesis at the American Musicological Society's Southwest chapter meeting.

My only goals I haven't met are getting into graduate school and publishing an article version of my Honors Thesis. Hopefully I will accomplish those in the next several months.

Looking back... I put so much time and effort into getting this far and at the end of the day, it still fills empty. I don't feel like I've accomplished anything because Tyler isn't here with me to enjoy it. Bah. This deployment has taken so much joy and happiness from my life... I can't wait to have them and Tyler back!

thanks girls i am gonna look into some kind of finacial aid, i've just realized i need to start something and do something with my life next yr is going to be a whole new yr for me, i have alot of things i want to achieve so i am gonna set some goals for myself and i am gonna try to achieve them. thanks i feel better

Yes, Military OneSource can help. Also, check with the Family Support office (I don't know what it is for Navy - Fleet and Family support?), and the education office on base. They can give you lots of information on grants and scholarships available to military spouses.

Yes Lisa I have felt that way. I now realize if I am not happy with my life then it will rub off on the rest of the fam which isn't fair to them or me. You have to get out the house and try to enjoy life as much as possible because if you just sit and wait on your hubby hand and foot you will look back and think damn where did the time go I haven't done anything.. Accomplish your goals and take every opportunity you have to better yourself.
