awwww poop so yesterday my hubs comes home and is like hey babe i just want to let you know that i might be gone when you go into labor in jan ... we are gonna be going in and out to sea and im like great that sucks and also he isnt gonna be able to come with me to our first birthing class more than likely which blows ... so now im just hoping that i go into labor when my mother gets up here cause otherwise it will be me or a taxi driving me to a hospital in the snow ....and pushing out a baby with no support.....i really hope he can be there but guess its just military life and i have to look at it this way at least he isnt in iraq for a year so count my blessings and hope that he doesnt have to be on the ship for a month at a time and all that cause they arent letting people put in for vacation dates and he was trying to take off 3 weeks in cause i have to have a c section ...

My husband doesn't get R&R either. Pretty disheartening for the guys that don't get it, but watch other guys they are working beside have to go for the leave, and then everyone left is over worked and more stressed out because they are a man down...

Sandi, don't they have to give them R&R? then...aren't they only alowed to be deployed for up to 13mo? i could be wrong. let me know if i am...i'm still pretty new at this (obviously since we just had our one year :D) it sounds like i had it pretty easy! now i feel like i shouldn't have said anything. sorry

well the only thing I found out today was there is a third possibility for the airport he could fly into woo hoo (note sarcasm) but again no complaning he will be home soon, he will be home soon, he will be home soon.... sorry I just have to keep telling myself that. Sandi I still can't beleive he didn't get to come home that is such BS!!!! Although OUR boys really shouldn't be deployed at all... stupid army stupid!!!! Only the arng get deployed over seas then gets to come home and deal with martial law and fire storms and all those other fun things... sorry today was a bad day. I found out before we move to sc there are like a hundred things I have to do like get the dang dog micro chipped and send them our marriage certificate all kinds of fun stuff before hubs gets home.

Yep michelle, they told my hubby he & his unit was coming home for good in November then it was changed to january.

I'm sorry Christina!!! My husband never got r & r so he never got a chance to come home. Our 2 year wedding anniversary is november 30th and he's gonna miss it b/c he's suppose to come home around january. You all how the military is and if they say one thing they really meant something else.

My husband had R&R in sept. he was due in on the 15/16 (we didn't get a date of arival and estimated the time it would take to get from iraq to WV). the 16th was our anniversary...he missed it. and he almost missed my birthday too. he didn't get into WV until late on the 22nd (my birthday and that's only b/c he begged and begged and whined to take a flight a day earlier (he was supposed to get in on the morning of the 23rd)

i'm waiting now on re deployment (aka end of deployment) he's supposed to return the mid of Nov., then i'm supposed to get a flight to meet him in germany where he's stationed, but we'll see how that really works :(

the best thing to do with the army is DON'T MAKE ANY PLANS! we wanted to go do certain things, but then i had appointments made for the week after he was supposed to leave, but instead he wound up taking me to all of them :( sucky!

That is great Shane. I hope you do find out when he does come into the states so you know where to pick him up. My hubby told me that all of the units know when they are coming home except his, he's guessing some time in january.
