hey treva i have 2 girls one is 2 and shes in the terrible 2s and my other is 3 1/2 months.when my 2 year old gets in to stuff some times if shes really bad i spank her butt(i try not to but some times i have to) and i put her on the couch and i make her sit there for 2mins.you put them in time out for how ever old she is.like my daughter is 2 so she sits for 2.hopefully this will help and if it doesnt tell her if she doesnt listen then your going to turn off her show if she is watching sponge bob or something.that seems to work.

Hey treva, my nephew just turned 2, he is terrible. What we do is look him straight in the face and tell him what he did wrong then put him on time out. You can have a time out place for her...either get her a chair, or get her a rug and put it somewhere quite but where you can see her. Just for 2-3 minutes everytime she leaves the spot put her back until she does her 2-3 minutes without making a fuss. But dont over do it, when u keep putting them ontime out..they start not caring. So only put her there when she really misbehaves. If you have any more questions let me know. I have neices and nephews all a year apart oldest being 12 and the youngest out of all the grandkids is my honey bunny whos turning 1 on the 27th. lol crazy huge family.

Toddler mommies- what do you do to get your little one to listen? Every time I tell my little girl something she laughs and does the complete opposite or totally ignores me and goes about doing her own thing. When my husband says something she immediately does it. Help!

hey gaby, the more truthful you are with them, and the more you address situations by being calm and rational. There going to respect you and come to you more with situations. Ive seen to many young girls around here get pregnant at the age of 12-15 believe it or not and thats because there mothers are out and about not careing what there kids do. You dont have to dig into her room looking for things. When you clean her room and find something just address it. Certain things they do need privacy but your still the parent. You can be there friend and a parent at the same time. If you need to chat im here. =)

hi ladies, the "personal items" i found so far, is just a journal but its whats written in there thats the problem. i honestly dont believe in invading privacy for an 11 yr old. to tell you the truth i mean there is a limit like walkin in on them when they're in the bathroom or that type of stuff but i was cleanin her room, the journal was there opened. I just dont knw nowadays it seems like the kids that want to act older are younger and younger by the min. I still havent said anything to her because i honestly dont knw how to address it. geez all i knw is that i have 3 girls and its just goin to get harder and harder as they become teenagers. GRRRRR.

Gaby, my neice is 12yrs old. I believe in going through there things at this age, you need to talk to them about things you dont like them having. Nowadays schools gives out condoms in junior high and talk about sex and watnot. But anyways, Keep it real with them. My sisters and I tell the girls that if they have a boyfriend to let us know and not be scared. We discussed sexual transmitted dieseases and even showed them. We even told them if they feel pressured to come to us, but most of all be above everyone else. They can careless about sex lol, they tell us everything, We want them to be smart independent woman. lol. Even tho they already are.

Gaby, what kind of "personal items" are we talking about? Condoms, oh hell yeah I'm asking about them! And, you can bet that it will be a long, ongoing discussion, too! I can't even think of anything my 9 year old that would have in her room that I wouldn't know about.... But, yes, I am definitely asking about it if I find it! Even if it's nothing super scary (a bra?), I'd probably ask where she got it and why. Good luck!
