This is for military wives that have goals outside of just being a military wife. Wives that have already accomplished there goals please share with us.
I contacted the AF housing and got our house here on base without having Power of Attorney... So maybe its different for each base.
My husband went to Tech School out there for Airfore and he loved it. The area right outside base is not so good, but the surrounding cities are very nice.
Im originally from Simi Valley, CA which is like 15 minutes from there.

Dependant I.D.????
How long does it normally take to get the Dependant I.D.? My husband has been is BMT for 5 weeks now, and his recruiter said I should of received something by his 3rd week in. My husband said he took care of all the paperwork by his 2nd week...

THURSDAY
Attend one of the four visitor briefings (8:30am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm or 2:00 pm)
8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – Family sign in at the BMT Reception Center to request visitation.
10:00 a.m. – Two-mile Airman’s Run (BMT Reception Center)
4:20 p.m. – Airmen begin arriving at the BMT Reception Center.
4:30 p.m. –Retreat commences and Airmen are released immediately after the ceremony.

- My husband is a recruiter now and is staying in that ... we aren't sure what his job is going to be at Hill yet though. Probably a trainer or in MEPS. We don't have any kids yet..we'll have been married for 7 years next month. I'm just getting finished with school so right now I'm working at a credit union. Not really sure what I want to do out there. I'll have my degree in business management mgt and marketing. I know the job market isn't great right now so I know I won't be able to be too picky with jobs. I have thought about looking into civilian jobs on base. Not really sure what process I have to go through for that though. So, do you and your husband like skiing? We're so excited to go in Utah. I've never been there before but everything I've heard about Utah is positive. We lived at Luke in PHX for 4 years and we loved the west so are excited to move back out there :)

- We are planning on buying a house. I've been looking online to get some ideas and we're going to get in touch with family support on base so they can get us in touch with a realtor this spring. I'm trying to figure out what areas are nice ... do you live on base? Are you working right now and if so, how did you go about finding a job? What does your husband do?

- lol. ya i saw it. and i wont be seeing him till he goes to luke. which sucks, but were getting through it. toms ranking top of his class, and i am not messin with that. poor kid studies 3 hours every night. lol and last week, went out for the first time to the bowling alley, had a few to many beers and ended up puking all over his dorm. lol soo he learned his lesson. its only a couple more months, we do fine as long as we get to talk to each other a couple times a day. and him having his phone back helps sooo much. i never appreciated text messaging so much!!
how are u and ur hubby doind? thats good that u get to see him again:]] i wish tom would have gotten cali, but god put him there for some reason. so we just take it day by day.

- Well, that would be nice if you guys got Vegas! My husband works on Survival gear. Vegas is actually better than I thought is was. I thought it was only about clubs. I am actually happy to see that there are family oriantated things to do, when we have kids. Do you guys live on base? Let me know when you find out what base you guys get. I know this is an interesting part of the military. Before we got Vegas I was wondering everyday what we would get. I was happy that it was America, because being in Europe for 3 1/2 years is a long time.

Well, his first year and a half to two years will be basic and tech school.
He joined for 6 years... But most likely this will be a life career...
my bf was there for basic he said the weather was sooo weird.1 day it would rain then the next it would be like 80 then the next day it wouldnt even be above 30 it was crazy.but thats all i really know.

The likelyhood of him being deployed in his job is slim (to most likely none).. It really depends on his actual duty station after tech school. But, it's usually a 6 month deployment.
