This Darn Army!!!! But I Love It!
Current mood: drained
Oh My Goodness....the stress, the waiting, the running all over the place. If anyone ever decides to accompany their husbands overseas on a tour, be prepared. It is the longest process you will ever deal with and I have dealt with way too much Army crap. Will put in for a CS (Command Sponsorship, for those who don't know). I have been from home to Austin to the doctor, twice now and all over hell and creation trying to get every little pie…

Well it has almost been 5 months since that horrible day those chaplins were at my front door, Still in some ways doesn't feel real but at points it does like when I go to the cemetary which I had to do on sunday cause it was our wedding anniversary seems unreal and very unfair to spend you anniversary at the cemetary. I shouldn't have to take our son there to visit his dad and put flowers down for him and say thats your dad, I still get so angry at god for taking him from us it wasn't his time…

My blog is far too massive to be located here. You can see my blog at furioustoaster.blogspot.com. I don't like to write too much about myself or my feelings, so if you're looking to steal my identity, you'll be sorely disappointed. I write a pretty un-serious Q&A advice piece, but I'm not opposed to answering serious questions if I could get any. Telling other people how to live their lives is like, my speciality (lol, jk). I also write a lot of small fiction pieces. Feel free to visit if y…

So everyone this is my first Blog.
To start things off I'll let everyone get to know me. I'm 20 years old, and currently stationed in the US Navy. I've been in for 2 years, and i have 2 years to go. Who really knows though i might re-enlist or just extend my contract to see a little bit more of the world. My first duty sent me to Meridian, Mississippi, a Naval Air station. I've been here since January 2007. I met my husband here so that has to be a positive outcome. We have known each other for…

So I work at a girl scout camp in north east ohio {camp sugarbush}. There's about five of them in our council, and three weeks ago all the camps got together at camp ledgewood for some training cuz it's in the middle of all of us. When we were there, I met another army wife, heather. I was really excited to meet someone else who's goin thru the same shit I am (both of our husbands are in iraq), but she was completely ignorant and totally stuck up. I told my husband about it, but other than that…

I am just another Army wife, stuck here, while my husband is deployed again. It is really getting old. Maybe it is just me but it is not getting any easier. One would think that after so many deployments we would get used to...yeah right. The thought that I am not the only in this, makes it a lot easier sometimes. At least my kids and I are in a place we like, Colorado Springs (Ft. Carson).

A lot of people don't understand ranks in the military at all. They usually have no significance to anyone who hasn't had any association with the military. Well there's pretty much two different types of ranks in the Air Force, enlisted and officer. Enlisted ranks are E-1 through E-9. Officer ranks are 01 - 0-10. If you want to read more about each rank and what they are responsible for and see their insignias (stripes) visit here. It has a much more detailed breakdown than I could give you.

This is part 2 of the journal I started yesterday. It's a series of journal entries on what's it's like to be an Air Force wife.
Deployments are common throughout the military. It's one of the most commonly know things that the military does. Although Air Force deployments differ from some of the other branches, they are still just as hard. I have been lucky enough to only suffer through one deployment with my husband so far. Throughout his 6 year career in the Air Force, he's only been deploye…

Army General says
Bush administration guilty of war crimes
Bush is on a war crime spree,
and only impeachment can stop him
Over the last three days, many tens of thousands of impeachment supporters have written and called Congress demanding accountability for Bush's war crimes.
In a Physicians for Human Rights report published yesterday, entitled "Broken Laws, Broken Lives," two-star former General Anthony Taguba, wrote, "Aft…

What is it about the "soldiers" who are left behind during deployments?? Are they ignorant? Lazy? Bored? WHAT??? They can't ever seem to get anything done and when they try they f*ck it all up. All I did was call to see if I could get a copy of our POA and somehow now, it has turned into my husbands LT bitching him out in Iraq for not leaving me one. He did-I just cant find it...so now my husband is pissed at me for even involving them..WHAT A BUNCH OF F*N MORONS!!!!!

This blog is going to be ongoing, I'll be posting regularly so everyone can get an understanding of what my life is really all about. I get asked so many questions about being an Air Force wife. I wonder if I should get my old job back here in Alaska, or go home for a few months. I'm torn because a lot can come from making either decision. If I get a job I can take some financial responsibility while I wait to PCS in November, especially since I can't go back to school in August because the semester is longer than the time I have left here. If I go home I think it would open my husbands eyes because he would have to fend for himself and still take responsibility for us while we're away.…

Life is good until you realize your husband is a game-a-holic. I have been married for 5 years to my high school sweetheart turned Airman. Maybe we didn't do things just right and some kind of way it was lost upon me that he loves video games. I have watched his game play increase over the years and its driving me nuts, We have a two year old daughter who doesn't really like to spend time with her daddy, because its a bit of a drag. I would hate to be 2 and have to sit on the sofa next to my dad…

ITS sooooo true .....
1.) If she wasn't emotional before, that is all about to change.
2.) You getting a higher rank could just mean an automatic free lay.
3.) Get her a pair of dog tags, ASAP, This is crucial, she will never take them off.
4.) Most of the time, you losing reception during training is your fault. (Though, she will eventually understand)
5.) Most of the time, everything is your fault.

Although hubby has been in the service since we met this is the first time we have gotten "the Call" from Chief. Last time he was the alternate but just missed. This time, he is leaving and it is quickly approaching. Being that he is not going with his "home" unit I don't really have that highly talked about local ombudsman to talk to or the group events to attend with people who understand this type of life. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends but they are at a distance in this conversation.

I haven't been through a deployment yet. Of course I am not new to the military lifestyle. I was an Air force brat my whole life. I loved moving, in fact I still love moving. THE AVERAGE MILITARY WIFE/GIRLFRIEND
The average age of the military wife/girlfriend is 20 years old.
She isn't old enough to buy a beer, but is old enough to manage the entire household.
She probably never saw herself loving a man who was in the military, but she loves him regardless.
Her penmanship has improved over the last few months, due to excessive letter writing.
She cries alot, because she misses the man she swore to love. Her life isn't complete without him.
She looks ver…

As I sit here surfing the net trying to occupy my time before going to bed I realize there are times when I
resent no not the right word, I envy my husband. I envy that he can push household responsibility off to the ever famous "later babe" day. He gets three days off while I work 5 days a week 12 hrs a day and then don't forget the main job of being mommy and wife 7 days/24 hours a day.
I would love to throw my feet up, grab my controller and spend 6 hours gaming like he does some days…

Well the love of my life is away at school for the military. He had only been home for two weeks since the last time he was away for a conference for them. I was informed that he'll be going to a lot of schools. I normally get to speak to him by cellbut this time he can't get any type of signal. They won't let him leave the base where he can get a signal, so each morning when I wake up I call his cell and leave a message. I do the same before I go to bed at night. I miss him dearly.
