Hi, thanks for the Add.. :)
Where is your husband being deployed right now?
Good for you to continue with your Degree. I have my stepson here with me. We used to have a black Labrador (6 weeks old)but ended up sending him to the Animal shelter 3 months later coz i am not good in training dog/puppy.
Nice to meet you here :)

Thanx, not too bad here. I am back at work and it sure keeps me busy...almost too busy...lol. Cant wait for the husband to come back and help out with the after work stuff. I am probably starting an online program to get my teacher license in October.
Thats good that you are busy...i would imagine without my kids i would welcome school too.
It doesn't matter though how busy i am, my mind always finds time to miss my husband...lol. you know when it is worse...the drive to work...weird. well, i better go and get ready for work

I like board games too. Used to play backgammon all the time...like chinese checkers, yatzee, and rummy. That colorado springs is dogfriendly is something i noticed before...i remember in Maryland when you went to parks dogs weren't allowed very often. I took nia to the shops at briagate before...some of the stores let dogs in. Pretty cool

Yeah, we didn't have much time to look for houses either. We lived still in Maryland and we really wanted to have a house before we moved here, so i flew here by myself and had two days to find a place. It was rough, but I got lucky too. I really like my house and luckily my husband did too lol, since I made an offer without him. He flew down here for the closing.
Other then the outdoors I like anything creative. After my husband left I continued painting walls. When he was here we painted the family room in the basement and I redecorated. When he was gone I threw myself back into the painting game and painted and redecorated the living room "stairs" and hallway upstairs. The kitchen got redone too and now I am doing something in the bedroom. I like taking old things and use them to make something new. It really has helped to "update" my living areas. First it was fun and second I enjoy the place more. I love HGTV! I also like photography and photo editing. For a while I made beated jewelry and sometimes I crosstitch when I watch TV. What about you? What do you like to do?

LOL...yes, everything seems to fall apart sometimes. Simple things like changing a light bulb requires me to get the ladder when my husband, who is 6,4', just raises his arm and voila its done. i changed the hardware on my kitchen cabinets and one screw is stripped...great...he could do it but i am not that experienced. the list goes on and on. another thing i hate is appointments i have with the kids. he would take them to some and now i have to do all of them. today is especially "great". i been sick and can't seem to shake it. my son is acting "stupid" and i have to vaccum...so that just did it for me...i busted out in tears...lol. since i been on here i don't feel quite so pathetic about that...lol.
we have been here two years and we love it and want to retire here. we are going to go camping at the 11 mile reservoir with two other families. I love camping. We went last summer with my husband and had a blast. I think i know the area you are talking about where you live. Is it in a newer housing development or one of the older, "free standing", homes? We live in a housing development but our house is older. I want to move out more secluded one day. More space for the dogs and I love nature and would love to have more space.

Hey Michelle
For some reason I couldn't reply on the other "site", so i just came on here. Having three dogs is definitly some work. But one of mine is small so i think that makes a big difference. I am going camping in a few weeks and will have to take the two big dogs, the little one , my kids and the camping stuff. I have a truck but still....lol. This will is just another reminder how much it sucks not to have my husband here. We would just take two vehicles. I try not to think like that but there are those times when i could throw myself a huge pitty party. So, if you want a thrid dog I would definitly say a small one.
No, I am not from Maryland. Actually I am from Germany. Met my husband there when he was stationed there. When he got orders we just thought the world is going to end, so we decided to get married and, knock on wood, it has been the best decision i have made in my life.
I can imagine that having family around really helps. In the end they cannot replace your husband. I would love to have family here, especially for the boys.
How do you like it in fountain area? We almost got a house there but then I came across this one. It is far out from ft. carson. that is why I never go there to shop. Plus i like the bx and its location. when i see the planes arrive though, i really have to hold back tears sometimes because it reminds me when he came home on r and r.
So are you taking classes right now? i am working on getting my teacher license now. just started to get the info online, so hopefully it won't take too long to get the ball rolling.

Yah i know what u mean, I had to work on saturday so i told myself i had until work that night to cry, once i put my makeup on i told myself i couldnt cry, i had though about getting someone else to work my shift that night, but in the end i knew that work would help get my mind off of it all! THis is his third deployment but my First! Before this deployment the longest we had been apart was a month or so. Now our longest has been four months, so now we are working on the 11 month part. Unfornately none of my friends understand my situation at all that is what makes it so hard for me. This site helps, I wanna get another dog or cat but i dunno if i can handle it right now, my honey says i need to wait until he gets back...i say we will see lol

It would be great if the deployment was shortened to 12 monthes, god that would be great!!! I am in school too, I am obtaining by degree in marketing so that takes up time as well as my job. i work full time as a server right now so I dont have much time on my hands but it also doesnt leave time to be depressed which is good and bad. Somedays a good cry is needed, when he left on saturday i cried pretty much all day, it was miserable! Having him home for that short time reminded me what i love about him and how much we belong together, he left a couple of his shirts that i can wear and for now they smell like him but that never lasts long. God I cannot wait until this deployment is over!! I know you feel the same! For fun I like to watch movies, read books and hang out with friends once in a while. What kind of dogs do you have? I a have a little boy pomeranian he is soo crazy.

Yeah he left on saturday morn and I have had a MUCH harder time when he left from r and r than we he initially left. I think the worst part is that I am going to have to go 11 months without seeing him...gosh that is a long time. I know that I will get through it but this time its taking me longer to adjust, after a couple of weeks i will beable to get back into the swing of things again but dang I miss him sooooooooo much. How are you doing? What do you like to do in your free time?

Hey Michelle,

I am currently going through the same sitution. My honey just left today from r and r back to over seas and it feels like it was the first day that he left, god I dunno if i can handle this. We have 11 more monthes to go and I would really like to meet some good people on here that i can talk to! Hope you are doing well and look foward to talking to you!
